Thanks for taking an interest in me and my life.
July 25, 2008--I hope you watched the YouTube video of Barack Obama's Speech in Berlin from yesterday July 24, 2008. I just posted it this morning and I think it conveys an important message to the US and the European Union (EU).
We did take a nice Vacation to Europe combined with a 2 week cruise of the Western Mediterranean and I kept a Journal. I have 3 versions for you to view if you wish. You can also see the pictures here on this site. The available versions are .docx, .doc or .pdf.
08 July, 2008--The information below is no longer accurate. I did some Mac evaluation. Gaby rarely used his iMac and the iMac that I had, I didn't really like. The PC was, well, a PC. Vista would crash on it, the system would freeze--in other words, do all the things a PC is supposed to do. Even though I built this to be the BEST PC I could put together, it still sucked. So, I sold both iMacs and the PC. I bought Gaby a 17 inch MacBook Pro and myself another Mac Pro. This Mac Pro is a super Mac! I put one of the GeForce 8800 cards in it and I upped the RAM to 12 Gigabytes. I also bought another 8800 graphics card intending to install it on the Windows side but haven't done that yet. I am running Vista Ultimate Edition (32 bit) and it runs a LOT better on the Mac Pro than it did on the PC. But then this seems to be pretty much the norm and it's sort of ironic that Vista would run better on a Mac than on a PC.
We've also made a life changing decision. After our recent trip and cruise, we have decided to move to Barcelona, Spain. We stayed in Barcelona for about a week prior to the ship leaving for the cruise. It is a wonderful city! There is such a difference in the feel of a European city as opposed to that in Miami. I can't speak for other US cities, but here in Miami, people are rude, over-bearing and very selfish. We did not get that feeling in any of the cities that we visited in Spain, France, Italy or England. Traffic in Rome scares me though. The idea of driving on the 'wrong' side of the road in England scares me. Try visiting Barcelona and see if you don't also fall in love with it. So, by 2010, we should have Spanish Residency. You can't become a citizen until you've been there for 10 years. We also get to keep our US citizenship. So, upon retirement, we could potentially collect benefits from the US and Spain. There is also a huge benefit being a citizen of the European Union, which by being a citizen of Spain--a part of the EU--you become automatically. So, I'm practicing my Spanish on a daily basis by reading 'El Pais'. Also, living in Miami, you speak quite a bit of Spanish in your daily life. Of course the reality of the situation is that there are two official languages in Catalunya, those being Spanish and Catalan. So, Gaby and I are both practicing Catalan. You can always find somebody who speaks Spanish in Barcelona (even English), but Catalan is most widely spoken. The street signs and such are in Catalan in Barcelona, so learning Catalan is sort of a 'must'.
On the other hand now, I'm not 100% a Mac user anymore. I bought a PC. It's actually a very GOOD PC by Velocity Micro. I tried a cheap solution in the beginning and found out that "cheap" just didn't do it. I tried buying an eMachine and a graphics card--crap! Then I bought an Acer with an updated graphics card--crap! So, finally I got tired of playing around and invested $2,000 on a TOP OF THE LINE Velocity Micro and Monitor. I upgraded the RAM to 4 gig and added two 1 terrabyte hard drives. Learning to play with Vista was not pleasant and I still find it annoying, but now, I'm able to play the latest games. That always used to be a sticking point while using only the Mac. The good games would come out months later, if at all. So, now I have one PC in the house. Still, to do anything productive, I use my Macs.
Earlier, on Saturday June 30, 2007, I turned in my leased 2004 XTerra and got this in its place:
I've been driving Nissan cars for about the past 10 years and I like them quite a bit.
Of course this is not a picture of my Murano, but this is the color and style of the one I got.

My last place of employment was
My facility was located at 18055 SW 12 Street, Miami, FL 33194. It is scheduled to close due to poor management and horrendous documentation.
It was so bad that the trial run-throughs for JHACO certification failed over and over.
